The importance of your child´s emotional development
The adults serve as role models, being the guiding light when a child feels lost, showing compassion and celebrating mistakes as a natural part of learning. We do not judge, and instead seek to understand each child’s unique needs and behaviours.
We seek to develop children’s curiosity and independence. Children here will learn to develop and trust their own reasoning, and the adults seek to facilitate that independence. We respect and protect children’s autonomy, letting them develop their own critical thinking.
We set safe boundaries that empower children to harness the freedom with them.
Respect is at the heart of our approach. Praiseand encouragement underpin all of our interactions with children -there is no place here for labels, judgement or punishment. Tests and evaluations are not necessary. We prioritise the richness and quality of children’s experiences, above all else.
Our unique learning environment encourages imagination and creativity -Imaginalia is a place of questions, conversations, ideas and wonder. Here, we all collaborate to promote a respect for our shared environment and resources -Imaginalia is for all of us. The adults prepare the learning environment based on sensitive observation of children’s needs.
The yurt: the yurt is a polyvalent space where children can go to chill out, gather and create, the light and cosiness makes it the perfect space for Arts, Music and imagination while truly connecting with each other. Diverse Arts materials and open ended materials as well as board games are available at any time.
The Montessori cabin: Montessori and other hands-on materials are available for children to explore nature, Maths, Sciences, Language, Arts, Geography, Arts, History, and anything they are interested in
The outdoor space: A spacious garden equipped with a trampoline, monkey bars, swings, playhouse, ample sand pit, mud kitchen, vegetable patch and vertical garden is available to allow movement, gardening, building and being in touch with nature at any time.
The porch: Our porch provides the perfect shelter to children to stay outside whatever the weather, a large table with chairs are available for outdoor eating at any time, board games, messy play, art, experiments, and many more.
The mixed age system and a diversity encourage collaboration and respect to cultural differences and abilities.
The children will enjoy responsible freedom. Children learn they are free but within some basic limits of respect towards others and the environment. Adults help the child with the integration of these codes of conduct and give any emotional support necessary in the process.Each child is the leader of their own learning path.
Each child is the main character in their own story. At Imaginalia, children can follow their own passions and interests, deepening their love for learning. In our unique environment, your child will develop a sense of belonging to the natural environment, andwill feel like a valuable and cherished member of the group.
